Hi,

I was wondering whether these three well known locutions where
invented during the C standardization or are generally defined in some
ANSI/ISO document. The only one I thought to consult, with no success,
was

  <http://anubis.dkuug.dk/JTC1/SC22/WG9/isodir3.pdf>

Thanks in advance.

What are "these three well known locutions"? Never assume that people
reading a posting can see the subject.

They were invented -- that's why they're defined in the standard.
