Dear readers and contributors to comp.std.c++,

The moderation software for the comp.std.c++ newsgroup had a
technical problem which caused all posts to comp.std.c++
between Dec 28th 2005 and Jan 10th 2006 to be dropped
with no acknowledgement. Approximately 32 posts were lost.

We apologize for the problem. We have modified the software
to prevent the same problem from reoccurring in the future.

Our log files list the date and subject line of the lost posts,
but unfortunately not the "From:" line. Enclosed below are
those details of the lost posts. We ask the contributors who
posted those posts to please repost them.

The problem was due to a software error that occurred only
when all the moderators were on vacation simultaneously.
Diagnosing and fixing the problem was delayed because the
tech support person for the moderation software (me) was
also on vacation at the same time.

Please accept our apologies.

Fergus Henderson, on behalf of the comp.std.c++ moderation team.
