I just submitted a posting to comp.lang.c++.moderated announcing the
publication of the third edition of Effective C++ and explaining how I'm
thanking the Usenet C++ newsgroup participants for their help by holding a
giveaway contest for autographed copies of the book.  The
nothing-to-do-with-the-Standard nature of the posting makes it a stretch
for this newsgroup, so I'll just say that the subject of the CLCM posting
is the same as the subject of this message, and I hope that the moderators of
this newsgroup will allow this pointer to appear.
