I'm forking this because it seems worthy of it's own thread.
Perhasp the C library subset needs to be more clearly circumscribed, and
treated as a separate 'organel' with a clearly defined interface. I don't
know what issues exist regarding synchronizing the evolution of C with C++.
I'm not sure what the motives for holding onto C support really are; nor
what level of fidelity to C is required; nor to which C C++ should be
faithful, if any.
