All of your questions, including the one you didn't explicitly
ask about an earlier post, are answered in the newsgroup FAQ.
Follow the pointer that appears at the bottom of every posting.

Are they?

The one I asked about the not-appearing post is not treated there (it does
treat the case an article isn't rejected but doesn't appear - but mine was
approved and didn't appear). Also, you may have noticed that the post that was
finally approved wasn't intended to be forwarded to the newsgroup, it was
intended to contact the moderators. I chose this way of contacting the
moderators, because contacting them via the e-mail address there NEVER worked.

About formal proposals, the FAQ says:

"More importantly, the standard is now finished, and no further proposals can
be accepted. Assuming the FDIS is accepted, the standard comes up for review
in about 5 years. Procedures for submitting proposals to be considered as part
of the review process will appear in this FAQ at a later date."

There is nothing in the FAQ that matches the last sentence, so I have to
assume no proposals can be submitted. Which is interesting, because some
proposals are (informally) approved (tuples, template typedefs) and so on.

To conclude, the FAQ didn't help me much. Any other helpful pointers ?

best regards,

Thomas

Hello,

*********
Moderators:

I have posted the same content some hours ago, it was approved, but it
did not appear on the newsgroup.

In case you assume technical problems NOT related to your site, please
feel free to reject it.
In case the message was apparently sent forward to nowhere, please
reject it to, I'll repost it then without this note.

thanx a lot,

Thomas

Now that new C++ is to be created, I have 2 question:

There are some issues (some minors, one major) I really like to see
added to (current) C++. These issues were brought up here in the
newsgroup, but I guess it's much better if I write a formal proposal. So

I'd like to know :

a) I am not a member of the Standardization committee, and I don't have
plans to become one. Is it therefor "lost time" if I prepare some sort
of formal proposal?

b) in case it is not "lost time", could you please give me a pointer as
to how to write such a proposal? I am sure there is a standardized way I

can adopt.

many thanks for your help,

Thomas
