Some of you may have seen a forged post, pretending that comp.std.c++
was scheduled for removal, before that forged post was canceled.

Please do not respond to that post. (Or to this one, for that
matter.) Followups on the forged post were directed to one of the
news.admin newsgroups, and the forged post was almost certainly an
attack on that group: the person who posted it hoped that outraged
replies would disrupt legitimate discussion in the group that s/he
was attacking.

Just to state the obvious:
 1. comp.std.c++ is not scheduled for removal.
 2. There was no vote on newsgroup removal. That sort of thing
    just doesn't happen.
 3. The person who ostensibly sent that forged post, and "her"
    position, do not exist.

comp.std.c++ is not the first newsgroup that has received this
sort of forged post. If you're interested in issues related to
Usenet abuse, appropriate newsgroups exist for that discussion.
