The final ANSI/ISO/IEC 9899:1999 update to the C language
standard is now available for purchase and download from the
American National Standards Institute at http://www.ansi.org.
The price is $18.00 USD and Visa, MasterCard, and American
Express cards are accepted.

Follow these steps to purchase and download the standard in
Adobe PDF format:

1. Select the ''Electronic Standards Store'' link on the main
page.

2. Make sure that ''NCITS (ITI): Information Technology
(Includes X3, NCITS, ANSI/ISO)'' is selected in the list box
and click the button marked ''GO''.

3. Scroll to the bottom of the web page in your browser.
The C99 standard is the third entry from the bottom of the
table. The text description is ''ANSI/ISO/IEC 9899-1999''.

4. After you purchase and download you will wind up with a
file named ''StoreDownload.asp". You might find it
convenient to rename this to something more memorable and
change the extension to .PDF.

Document details:

The file contains 1 411 606 ''bytes''.

The document contains 554 pages and includes a PDF bookmark
index.

The page format is A4, not US 8.5 x 11 inches.

Text copying from the document is enabled.

Note to ''newbies'': The standard document is a valuable
resource and reference document for serious C programmers.
The material is complex and technical. It is not a tutorial
or textbook for learning to program in C.
