Apparently Microsoft has updated the page and removed such verbiage.
The page (last revised on October 29, 1999) now only mentions "the
C++ Standard".

Well, let's all do what I just did and fill in the little box on the
right-hand side of the article to ask where we can find a copy of the
"Visual C++ Standard". Maybe they'll get the hint.

Most likely some checker runs around and maps all intsances of C++ into
the product name. Microsoft is pretty hinky about trademarks. You'll
never see the word "Windows" by itself either.
