Hi!
As I understood, the ANSI final proposal for the ANSI/ISO C++
standard will be passed on Friday Nov 14.

What changes was made in the language and library definition
since the last public ANSI/ISO draft from 2 December 1996?

Some notice went out with wording like that, but it isn't entirely
accurate. On Friday (I'm writing this on Thursday) we expect the ANSI
J16 and ISO WG21 committees to vote in favor of recommending the
current draft (with final editing this week) to be forwarded to ANSI
and ISO for approval.

The ANSI hierarchy usually accepts J16 recommendations. In this case,
ANSI will not be publishing a C++ standard itself, but will adopt an
eventual ISO standard as an ANSI standard. ANSI casts the US vote in
the ISO balloting.

The ISO hierarchy usually accepts WG21 recommendations to forward a
draft for ISO balloting. If it does so this time, a 30-day ISO vote
will take place probably in January to determine whether this draft
becomes the ISO C++ standard.

It is not possible to list the many small changes. No major changes
were permitted. The small changes were made to correct obvious errors
and omissions, and to accomodate as many requests as possible from the
public and ISO member nations regarding CD2.
