Just a couple of comments.

First, there is no official html version of the draft. The html
versions produced by volunteer committee members are generated
mechanically, and may contain unknown errors or omissions relative to
the official version.

Because html is so easy to modify (compared to postscript), a
privately-posted html version might differ from the official version
in ways that are not obvious. If a version doesn't come from an
official C++ Committee site, such as Software Emancipation Technology
or the Univerity of Warwick, you take your chances. (As you do with
any material you find anywhere on the Web.)

Finally, the version on the site in Sweden noted above appears to be
the public-review version from December 1996, not the current version
of September 1997. The current version is an interim version not
available to the public. See the FAQ for this newsgroup (referenced
below) for more on that subject.

The search page requires a live internet connection, since the search engine
is a CGI script on my server. You can drive it from:

    http://www.maths.warwick.ac.uk/cpp/pub/wp/html/cd2/

The packaged version was intended for offline browsing, so I took out the
searching stuff. Only I guess I forgot to take out the link to the search
page. I'll do that now, to avoid further confusion. If anybody knows how to
construct a search mechanism that works offline, let me know...

Steve.

I picked up the html version of the 1997 C++ Public Review Document,
and I just noticed there's a link to a search page (ghindex.html) but
that page wasn't in the package. Was it ever prepared, or is this a
permanently dead link?

FWIW, Pete Becker (I think) posted the same query a little while ago
(months?) regarding the Dec96 cd2, and I have not seen a reply in this
newsgroup.

Sorry everyone, but this appears to be a "me too" on my part :-(
