The ANSI C committee recently met in Kona, Hawaii to discuss the latest
draft proposals. They meet quarterly, and I think the next public review
draft is planned for some time this year.

Check out <ftp://ftp.dmk.com/DMK/sc22wg14/c9x>. It's an FTP directory
containing all the proposals for additions to the next edition of ANSI C.
Some were rejected, others tabled, and a few were accepted for consideration.

The current standard is C89, meaning the 1989 edition. The next one will
probably be C98 or C99. (That's why the FTP directory is called 'c9x'.)
