I'm a programmer too and believe me i wouldn't advertise on the net for
borlands
programmes. I legally purchased a copy from someone else but unfortunatley
there
are four files which have a bad header reading and i have had grief from day
one
after advertising on the net as borland don't seem to be interested in second
hand users. Borland c++ V4 onwards is a truly excellent package and i would
recommend you buy it, i too had v3.1 and i can really say that it is a great
step forward in compilers, if only borland would let up a bit and give me the
files.
Hope you get what you want but i doubt it

Martin,
I have never found Borland UK Customer Services any problem, provided you can prove
that you are now the legal owner of the software. This is usually in the form of a
receipt, or a photocopy of the first disk with the serial number on it. If you can
prove that you are the legal owner, then you should be able to purchase replacement
disks for any current product that you are registered for, just like any other
registered customer. Like any other company they have to cover the cost of sending out
replacement disks when the originals are outside their warranty period, you can't just
get them for free (last time I enquired, it was about 15.00 UKP + VAT, so it's not
extortionate.). Also they are unable to keep replacement disks for all the old versions
and products, there are just too many...
FYI, the number for Borland UK is 01734 320022. They should be able to sort you out,
provided you have the proof.
Mark.
