Topic: installation problems with Borland Turbo c++

Every since my Borland Turbo C++ got screwed up somehow (mysterious
application execution error, I think), I've tried dumping and
re-installing it, but the same thing happens every time: after the
seventh disk is finished, the screen that comes before the first disk
appears, as if I'd never even tried to install it. I've called Borland
3 or 4 times and did what they said - (1) changed autoexec.bat and
config.sys according to what they said (2) deleted certain .ini files
(3) went into DOS and copied all the disks' files into a tempoary
directory then installed them - but nothing worked. I even got
replacement disks from Borland, but again the pre-disk-1 screen came
after the seventh disk was supposed to be installed.
If anyone has any recommendations, please post it in one of the two
newsgroups, or better yet, e-mail me a direct response. Thanks.
