For those of you who have not learned about Jim Fleming, this was just a
sample of the Net-clogging garbage posted by a person who is unfairly
prejuduced against C++ in favor of another language called C+@ (pronounced
cat). C+@ was created by AT&T and by a defunct company called Unir.
Such postings should be ignored.
This newsgroup is dedicated to the discussion of the C++ Programming
language. Discussion of all other topics, should be directed to the
appropriate newsgroups.
Please do not respond to this message.

Huch? What's this? Someone who thinks that she has to invent a new
programming language by adding a mysterious operator @ to C++?
can somebody explain?
thanks,

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
C++ WAS CONSPIRACY TO KEEP C+@ OFF THE MARKET!
After long months of giggling behind our newsreaders, we want to
officially admit that C++ and it's standardization committee were a
gigantic hoax.
As we all know, C++ is a joke, and a particularly bad one at
that. However, since for some reason we just don't like Jim Fleming
and his language "C+@", we have decided to conspire and continue the C++
joke to at least prevent C+@ from ever appearing on the market as a
superior OO language.
This conspiracy seems to have worked out beautifully, for Unir is
now defunct, and there is not a single implementation of C+@
available on the market.
We apologise to all those who started programming in C++, or even
started using STL and reading the so-called DRAFT of the c++
standard. But, take heart, you all contributed to the conspiracy!
We want to express our thanks to the following people for making this
conspiracy work so effectively:
* Bjarne Stroustrup & colleagues for pretending to develop the
C++ "language".
* The members of the so-called C++ standardization committee for
keeping up appearances, and refusing to yield to the numerous
requests of introducing a '@' operator in C++.
* The numerous usenet readers who nearly drove Jim Fleming mad by
pretending to take him seriously most of the time.
* The numerous posters who supported the conspiracy by posting
so-called questions about C++, or even (we particularly liked
those!) pretended to actually *defend* C++ as a programming
language.
Thanks, all of you. We had a good laugh, but the joke is finally over
now. We will of course rmgroup comp.lang.c++ and comp.std.c++ in the
near future.
