Topic: elf/dwarf 2.0 standardizes C++ debugging?

At present, each C++ vendor is having their own extensions to the object
file format to support C++ symbols (for instance, gdb can only debug g++).
Does anyone know if elf/dwarf 2.0 address this issue? I have searched the
local bookstores and the net for references to dwarf. So far, the only thing
I came up with is the Nohr's book on Elf, which doesn't discuss dwarf.

I am grateful for any pointer.

Apparently not. It seems it doesn't address some of the "newer" features
of C++, like namespaces and exceptions.
