Has anyone considered what could be *easily* removed from the current
ANSI C++ standard to ensure that the standard sails through the
remaining process with little need for additional engineering and/or
discussion?

Can namespaces be easily removed?
What about the class library?
I assume that templates can not be touched.

Are there any other features, proposals, etc. that could be considered
for removal? (Especially to expedite the process)

Is there a subset that 99% of all compiler vendors have implemented?
In other words, if a subset were specified, could most vendors claim
conformance at the present time?
Note: without the class library, this might make it easier
for certain vendors who appear to not conform at all
and if anything have a different solution that might
  be hard to change.

If a subset were developed, how close would it align to the current
ISO/ANSI standard for C and how easy would it be to combine the two
standards?

Also, can it be assumed that there are no major *new* proposals that
have not been added at this point?

Are there any major issues to be discussed or voted on at the July
joint ISO/ANSI meeting?
Is there an agenda for that meeting?
