Andrew....
Since you have time to slap these children on the wrists...
...maybe you could give us an "update" on how the public
comment period is going...
BTW...in case you do not think that this applys to the C++ standards effort
I am referring to the "public comment period" for THE proposed DRAFT joint
ISO and ANSI Standard for THE C++ Programming Language...the last time I
looked, you were working as Bjarne's "secretary" and taking notes and
messages...how are things going...???...any status...any updates...any
news...???...how are Bob and Dan taking all of this...:)...when is Dan
going to start using the "net" to wack us all on the wrists...???...does
he even have an account...???...

I doubt I'll hear much of interest until the next meeting. Comments are
supposed to go directly to ANSI, so I won't see them until ANSI sends them
to the committee. I believe that on July 6, they will send all the comments
they have received so far to the committee so that the committee can start
working on them at their meeting which begins July 10.

You are mistaken. Bjarne has a secretary, but I am not she.
As for Bob and Dan, I don't know which Bob or Dan you mean.
Since you do, I suggest you ask them yourself.

Hello All,
I use to programming in VB 3.0 Pro for Windows applications and
sometimes in ANSI - C for DOS.
I have never touch VC++ ( only a bit of experience in Borland C++ 3.0
I have), so there are some criticle questions to myself as follows, and
would like to get valuable ideas/advise from those who has similar
experience:
1. Is the programming environment in VC++ similar to VB ?
2. Is there any obstacles from moving VB to VC++ for a beginner
who know only a little bit of C++ ?
3. VB 4.0 release is coming soon. How is it compare to VC++ ?
Thanks a lot!

This has nothing to do with C++ standads. Please try a different newsgroup.
