There is a book on this, I think the author is
Tony Hansen, the title something like:
Serial Programming in C++.

I used it when writing C++ classes for Serial communications
for Windows and it was helpful (although it's DOS, not Windows
specific).

Does any one know a good and easy to use lib or source to use the serial port
on a PC.

I must be able to listen to a 2400 N81 source and write that data to a file.
