Topic: ANSI Public Comment Update

The proposed standard for ANSI C++ has been out for public comment
for about one month...it appears that the public comment period is
going to be very short...
I was wondering if anyone (preferably a member of the ANSI committee)
has an "update" on how things are going in the "public comment period".
This is a good forum to provide periodic updates. It does little good
to publish the results three months late in something like the C++
Report because the public comment period would be over.
As I have stated in the past, if the number of public comments are
kept to a *minimum* (or if there are none), then the proposed text can
sail through the ANSI process and C++ can become an ANSI Standard...
...as soon as possible....
Since there has not been much discussion in this group on "formal
public comments", it appears as though there have been a minimal number
of comments. It would be nice to be able to confirm whether this is
indeed the case or whether people have lost interest in C++ and have
turned their attention to JAVA, Phantom, OZ++ or another cool C+@.
