Isn't it nice to know that AT&T managed to do what all us software
professionals couldn't - put an end to Mr Fleming's ravings...

Living in South Africa I never thought I'd be grateful to AT&T for anything
but this proves me wrong. I wonder what hobby-horse Jim will get onto next?

Regards
Peter

This is great news! I am going to add to my AT&T stock holdings at once.
Thank you for this inside information.

This is just fantastic news. Is this part of a new AT&T plan to
associate only with professionals and grown ups? I must phone my
broker at once!!!

-- For Immediate Release

In an expected move, the American Telephone and Telegraph Company
(AT&T) has canceled its software license agreement(s) with Unir
Corporation.

This ends the two year long struggle by Unir to introduce AT&T's
new object technology to the commercial market. Even though Unir
paid AT&T, attracted investors, supported the technology, and
provided OEM support, it became clear, early on, that researchers
at Murray Hill, New Jersey did not want this technology made widely
available. It will now, not likely, ever see the light of day.

C++ has clearly won and will no doubt "sail" through the ANSI/ISO
standards bodies with wide-spread support and a loyal following
of programmers and marketers.

Unir Corporation and Unir Technology, Inc. intend to continue to
provide consulting, software development, and training services
for the OO and Internet markets. Also, Unir will be focusing more
efforts on MUD technology development and will be taking over
support of "The MUD Institute", currently based in Boston. These
efforts will be moved to Naperville, IL and will be supported by
a world wide group of software developers.

In answer to people's continuous questions regarding the "relationship"
between AT&T and Unir...it is NOW the BEST relationship possible...
we do not have ANY relationship....except maybe 800 service which
will likely be moved to another carrier.

Thank God that this is over...what a nightmare...AT&T is an awful
company to deal with regarding software licensing...no wonder people
in California and Berkeley hate AT&T...the pattern is clear, they
develop a 70% solution, they sell you on the hope of providing the
30% needed to make it go...and then they cut your legs out from under
you when you try to market the technology...

..needless to say, don't expect to obtain any AT&T software from Unir...
we have none....Thank God this is over...let's go sailing...
