In the history of computer science there have been few
language designers who have deserved such a swift rise
to stardom as Bjarne Stroustrup. A truly unique scientist,
his design and implementation of C++ and his many publications
have brought him widespread critical acclaim. Hence we are
proud to announce the birth of a new magazine: "Take Bjarne
in your ARMs: The Bjarne Stroustrup Information Service".

We are aiming to be a friendly and informative
organization dedicated to Bjarne, his work and his
great many devoted fans. We operate independently
of his management and have the personal approval of
Bjarne himself who suggested we use the name
"Take Bjarne in your ARMs".

We hope to be more than a 'fan club' and, in time,
expand our activities much further afield. With the
emphasis very firmly on facts and up-to-the-minute
information, our quarterly newsletters will keep you
in the picture with regard to Bjarne's book releases,
papers, conference appearances and other future plans.
The very latest news will be sent as soon as we have
it via our stop-press mail-outs.

Our regular features will include; an ongoing bibliography
series which will build into the most comprehensive list
of Bjarne publications, stylish full color artwork,
a question and answer column and a page which is packed
full of fascinating snippets of Bjarne trivia and info.
The first issue features an exclusive interview with Bjarne,
paper reviews from around the world and the first part
of the bibliography series (1980-1983).

This is a magazine run by fans for fans and we want you
to feel part of it! So please feel free to contribute
by sending us your letters, articles, artwork, photos,
ideas, thoughts or anything!

The subscription fee for one year (four issues) is $20
for countries belonging to the European Union, and $25
for the rest of the world. Each issue will be released
the first day of each quarter. The very first issue will
be released 04/01/95. Everyone who makes a subscription
at this day receives a 25% reduction.
