EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING

Our client, based on the EASTERN SEABOARD, is searching
for a senior engineering executive who will be responsible for
directing, coordinating, and implementing the new product aspect
of Systems Engineering related to DIRECTORY GRAPHICS.
This position includes the following functions:

  * formulation of strategic and operational policies relative to
    technical systems of the Company
  * formulation of corporate goals and objectives
  * formulation of business and strategic goals
  * direction of the Engineering Department
  * delivery of technical systems needed to attain new business products
  * is an integral member of the Sales and Marketing Team offering
    expertise on relational database management and technical
    capabilities and ventures of the Company

This position requires 15 years of diverse printing, publishing,
and composition expertise.  It requires global and in-depth
engineering and technical expertise in electronic photo-composition,
system design, computer system architectures, networking, and database
systems. This job also requires in-depth knowledge of DIRECTORY
PUBLISHING and PRINTING.  The incumbent must be able to define
market requirements and match them with the appropriate technological
solutions.  This position requires financial  knowledge of large budget
administration and contract negotiations.

Skills:
  * highly developed managerial skills with the ability to manage both
    people and functions
  * large project and management skills
  * in-depth knowledge of UNIX (Windows NT/AS is a plus), large
    relational database systems, and C language
  * excellent communication skills (i.e., the ability communicate
    complex technical concepts to non-technical management and customers)
  * ability to thrive in a start-up environment
  * a service orientation
  * a team orientation
  * management skills must be as strong as his/her technical skills
  * working knowledge or experience in CD-ROM, Multi-Media,
    and Electronic Publishing
