I have just gotton Watcom C/C++ 10.0a with the docs and
am impressed but being a Borland user for so long ( Turbo
Pascal and BC++ 3.1 ), I am lost in some of Watcom's own
functions. I have to yet find a function to clear the screen
in DOS TEXT mode ( no graphics ) or to change text colors
( foreground and background ). I would appreciate any help.
Also, is there any books out there written for Watcom to
show the full capabilities of the language? I am a CS major
and having such a powerful tool will be useful but I have yet
to fully exploit it. So far all I use it for is my UNIX C++
source, I still use Borland C 3.1 for DOS for my personal
programs.
Is 4.5 is bad as everyone says or is it pretty good? Dos it
include good tool and a nice IDE? Watcoms IDE is mickey and I
have no clue how to use their Resource Editor :( Does Borland
include any 32 bit code development like DOS/4G? I purchased
Watcom for $99 and the manuals for $99 at the educational
price, does Borland have an educational discount? How much.
Any information and advice would be greatly appreciated!
