I posted an article about a week ago asking whether anyone
knew about such a class (because I thought I saw it mentioned
briefly in a few posts).

I think no followup came to that request, but I may have missed
one so I reiterate some of my questions:

 . Does such a thing truly exist? (i.e., a _standard_
       numerical vector class)
 . If so, is there an implementation of it?
 . If so, where?
 . Is there a document explaining its design.

Any other related info is welcome too.
