Hi. I have been reading a paper on parallel disk access. I was
wondering how it would be possible to set up, say, a UNIX SUN
workstation to access multiple parallel disks at once. In other
words, is it possible to have a program utilize the aggrigate
bandwidth of a st of say ten disks by accessing them in parallel?.
Is there any package, library, command, facility, that may help
in acchieving such parallel access. The goal is to use the parallel
storage capacity to provide very high speeds of access to huge data
at a rate that cen not be supplied by conventional disk drive
bandwidth. Would this require writing a device driver or could it
be done using exsisting device drivers? ANy thoughts, references,
or referals would be appreciated.

PS. I heard that California had somthing similar, I believe it
was called the RAID standard. Does anyone have any info?.

Thanks.
