Doug Young, who wrote the well known "The X Window System, Programming
and applications with Xt and OSF/MOTIF", wrote another book title :

 "Object-Oriented Programming with C++ and OSF/MOTIF"

and there is a complete description of a callback class. You can find
a postcript version of the chapter on this class in :

 ftp.x.org:/ftp/contrib (or likely)
