Topic: FTP site for Public Domain C++ compiler/utilites/editor?

compiler/editor for c++.  I am new to programming and I wish to learn how
to edit programs programmed in c++, etc.  If anyone knows of a site,

   Please gry the book by Greg Voss and Paul Chui, Turbo C++
Disk Tutor.  Forgive me for mentioning something using PC DOS
but it is a good companion to the Borland Turbo C++ series.
It has good style too in my opinion.
