I think DOS/Windows users could do with their own C++ group(s) and be
completely banned from even mentioning DOS/Borland/Windows etc in
comp.lang.c++ or comp.std.c++ ;-) (Wishful thinking...)

Maybe then the percentage of relevent postings to these groups would
creep into double figures...

(Oh well - thats a new one - just tried to drop this article on the C++
compiler instead of mailer.)

After one month not reading this newsgroup I was surprised to
find only 89 (unread) articles in this newsgroup with the first
#10757 being from Mon, 3 Oct 1994 (that is only ONE WEEK) !

Does this depend on the newsgroup itself or on my newsserver
or what? Can anyone tell me where this fluctuation comes from?
(I can remember times e.g. in late august where there have been
over 200 up to over 3 weeks old articles in this newsgroup)
Is there a kind of (monthly?) cleanup-algorithm working?

I'm annoyed about having missed 4 weeks of comp.std.c++. Is
there any way (ftp, ..) to read articles that came before
the ones listed in <list old> on my xrn?

Thanx,
Ulf Schuenemann

Same thing happened to me. What annoyed me even more was it
seemed half the articles were "how do I do this in Borland"
or other drivel that belongs in the .lang, not here.
