I need to use c++ on a PC running DOS and Windows and port it to a aix
system which uses the xlC compiler.  I must buy a software package for the PC
within days and I'd like to make an educated purchase; please help.

My primary concern is code which uses the same "standard".  Borland v.2 will
not work.  The thread on "MS, Borland, Watcom" reported Borland to be
buggy, but also the best "standard" in as much as there is a standard.
My secondary concern is user friendliness of the compiler for the PC.
