Dear Friends,
There will be a BASoFA (Bay Area Software Frameworks Association)
meeting
this Thursday August 4, at 7:00 PM, in the Building 4 Auditorium at
Apple's
R&D campus (Infinite Loop) in Cupertino.
This month's presentation will be Utah, a new cross-platform C++
development environment from ViewSoft. ViewSoft has added reflection
(self-describing objects) and run-time binding to C++'s object oriented
structure. With those extensions as a base, they've brought to market a
Semantic Interface, where any number of interactors are able to
run-time
bind to and directly manipulate data inside C++ object instances. Utah
is
currently available for Windows, and will soon be shipping for
Macintosh
and Motif platforms. Future releases will support both OLE 2 and
OpenDoc.
Dave Mitchell, Chief Techical Officer and Dale Munk, President and CEO
of
ViewSoft will be here presenting version 1.1.
There will also be an opportunity to talk about MacApp 3.1.1 and 3.5d1,
which are coming out on E.T.O. #15.
Directions:
Take 280 and exit at Sunnyvale/Saratoga Rd (aka DeAnza Blvd). Go south
(towards the foothills) and turn left at the first light on to Mariani.
Drive to the end of the street and turn left onto Infinite Loop.
Continue
on Infinite Loop until you reach Building 4. The auditorium is right
off
the lobby.
