It's more than a rumor. Check out the message <1098@biosys.apldbio.COM> in
comp.sys.mac.oop.misc. Someone from Microsoft is demoing Visual C++ 2.0
for the Macintosh and a library that implements the Windows API atop the
Mac Toolbox.

|As for rumors, I haven't seen any in MacLeak (er, uh, MacWeek), but it...

Not currently, that I know of, but there are rumours about....

There are several C++ compilers for the Mac though: Symantec C++ 7,
Metrowerks Codewarrior C++ 1.0, and Apple's MPW with CFront.

There are also a number of frameworks.

As for rumors, I haven't seen any in MacLeak (er, uh, MacWeek), but it
could've slipped by while I wasn't watching. I did just get DR/3 of
CodeWarrior from Metrowerks, though.
