Hello,
what is the difference between this group and comp.lang.c++? If none, can they be merged? Thanks.

Signal to noise ratio.
One is about using the language, learning the language, specific
products, particular vendor libraries, etc. The other is concerned with
language standardisation issues. I will let you guess which is which ;-)

The comp.std.c++ group is primarily intended to be used for discussion of
issues pertaining to the standardization of C++. Alas, the group is
increasingly degenerating into yet another comp.lang.c++ with an extremely
low signal to noise ratio.
