It wasn't resolved, we just all got tired of talking past each other.
I think I saw the title of some kind of relevant paper slated
for the post-San Diego C++ committee mailing.  If that turns out to
discuss what I think it does, we should get something happening at the
next committee meeting.  I don't get the mailings, though, so I can't
say for sure.  If there is no paper on the subject, I may write up a
proposal, though the way my schedule is going right now, I may not have
time.

I guess we are all EXHAUSTED due to the hard debate. I'm recovering my breath
and I will soon be back (It has been recently to much calm here, he, he, he ;-)

Seriously, I think we got no consensus, and I hope we get a solution before
ANSI committee let the exceptions as a unsafe feature of the standard or even
worse, take away the exceptions of the language.
