        At this time, it would seem that the SC22 and JTC1 committees will not
be specifiying any routines, class definitions, or other resources that would
directly provide the functionality you seek.  You may wish to file a proposal
to the relevant committees if you feel strongly about what is arguably a gaping
hole in C++.
