Hi, I'm a newcomer to both C++ and these groups, so pardon me if these are
FAQ's (which is likely..) and point me to the right direction:

* What are the differences between Gnu CC 2.0 and C++ "proper"?

* In particular, between it and Stroustrup's 2nd ed.?

* What standard does that book present? AT&T 2.1?

* What other "standards" exist? ANSI? How do they differ?

I have access to both paper and electronic archives, so references and
pointers to relevant material suffice.
