One problem with the NCEG stuff is the lack of implementation and usage
experiece. With ZTC++ 3.0, we have added in some of the proposed NCEG
stuff like hex floating point numbers, all IEEE comparison operators,
full NAN, NANS, INFINITY support and
all the new functions. For C++, we added the ability to overload the
new comparison operators in the same manner as other operators.
You can always tell the pioneers by the arrows in their backs, but the
NCEG stuff looked so well thought out and useful we implemented it.
It now remains to be seen how the numerical analysts like the functionality.

If people like the extensions, we'll propose them to the ANSI C++ committee.
