Hello.

Back in 2014, there was a pretty advanced proposal on URIs (version n=C2=B0=
5):=20
N3975 <http://www.open-std.org/jtc1/sc22/wg21/docs/papers/2014/n3975.html>
But I haven't seen any update on it.
What happened to this proposal?

Thank you very much,
Vincent

Seems like it's lacking a champion.

My understanding is that all work on side proposals related to networking
as abandonned (without being said it was) as soon as it was decided
that it would be preferable to go from boost.asio instead of building all
the bricks first.
I don't know if the asio library being work in progress for the standard
have a uri type as complete as in this proposal though.

Neither Glyn nor I could attend any of the meetings to get revised
proposals with the implementation experience we've had. There are also some
dependencies on string_view which had been suggested and now implemented (
github.com/cpp-netlib/uri) and could be reviewed again if there was enough
interest in making it part of a TS or something else.
